REBECCA DELABARRE, DIRECTOR

rebecca delabarreRebecca is the director of Kids Crossing Learning Center which is a ministry of Chapman Memorial Church.   Rebecca's background in Early Elementary Education, Family Life Studies and working in the corporate and municipal sector have provided knowledge and experience to equip her the past fifteen years as a director of learning centers.   Rebecca was awarded the prestigious Governor's Quality Care Award for the State of Michigan in 2000.  She is an active member of Child Care Resources, NAEYC and SWMiAEYC.  In June of 2005, Rebecca felt called by God to further his kingdom by joining this ministry and feels blessed that God is using her to touch the lives of children in her care.  She enjoys walking, reading, and taking trips with her friends and family in her spare time.


ELLEN HUYSER, LEAD 2'S & 3'S TEACHER

ellen huyser Ellen grew up in Lansing, MI and attended Michigan State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree and certification in both Special Education, emphasis on Hearing Impaired and Elementary Education. Upon graduation, Ellen married her husband Mark and they moved to Kalamazoo where she taught Hearing Impaired Preschoolers for ten years. Ellen also attended Western Michigan University where she received her Continuing Education Certification in Early Childhood Education. Ellen has also taught Homebound students that were medically fragile and unable to attend school. The past six years her focus has been on children in the preschool setting. She feels blessed to be teaching the three year olds in the Preschool classroom. Ellen and Mark have also been blessed with three children of their own ranging in age from 22 to 16.

SHERI LOUIS, LEAD TODDLER TEACHER

sheri louis Sheri Louis is our Lead Toddler teacher at Kids Crossing. Sheri brings to Kids Crossing 10 years of experience in the preschool setting as a lead teacher as well as Administrative Assistant. In addition to her years of experience with preschool education, Sheri has been employed with Vicksburg schools as a teacher's aide. Sheri has lived in the Portage-Vicksburg area all of her life. She and her husband Mark have been married for 31 years and their family includes two married daughters and two granddaughters. When not busy playing with her grand daughters and helping at her church, Sheri enjoys roller blading!

MICHELE LIBSTAFF, LEAD INFANT TEACHER

Michele Libstaff grew up in Toledo, Ohio and moved to Michigan in 1998 and Portage in 2006 where she makes her home with her Mom and her dog, Mysti. Michele has an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working with children from the age of infant through middle school since 1997. Michele loves to create age appropriate games and crafts for children. In her spare time Michele likes to scrapbook and do jigsaw puzzles..
